I have crossed many seas and all the oceans in 24 years of sailing around the world. Some places where few sailors have ever been. But what awaits us is a new journey for me too! I am happy to reconnect with this dimension of adventure and discovery in sailing, to rediscover the original meaning of navigation: to move around, to encounter new lands.
And although the weather is gray for our first 24 hours at sea, the coastline can be seen from time to time around the boat. It's beautiful! I never tire of these landscapes that reveal themselves in the distance, though not always clearly.
Everything is fine on board, we are finding our feet and settling into a rhythm. Tonight, we will enter a complex weather system with strong winds. We will look back fondly on the calm moments before the storm, which weren't so unpleasant after all!
Tomorrow, we will sail along the coast of Italy to get a good angle for starting our crossing of the Mediterranean.
