Start of the third leg this Tuesday at 3pm, for 650 miles between Spain and the Baie des Anges. A first round in the Mediterranean that promises to be complex, in changing but sustained conditions, with a brand new crew aboard AMAALA.
"A new page, a blank page, or almost. With such motivated people on board, it's going to be great!"
"It's very exciting, I can't wait. Cartagena was great, but now it's time to move on! It's fantastic to be taking part in the race with Alan and this team. Alan and I are very good friends, but we've never sailed together in a race. We've been talking about it for so long, I'm delighted to be here. I think we complement each other quite well, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can get out of each other. I really believe in the principle behind this team, with the transfer of knowledge and exchanges. It's quite new for me to be on the other side, to show others what I know and to remain open to what young people can bring us with their fresh perspective and approach. It's great, it's going to challenge a lot of things and we're all going to grow, so it's cool!"
"I'm so excited to go to sea: it's a dream come true for me. It's beyond anything I could have hoped for, and the atmosphere is incredible. I hope to bring my good humour, positive attitude and good spirit to the team."
"Really looking forward to seeing how it turns out! The start of the leg looks set to be tough, with close-hauled sailing followed by a transition zone north of the islands. Then it's wind all the way: no lulls in sight, which is great news!"
