While the fleet has made its way into the North Sea and is seeing its progress slowed by a ridge of high pressure as it heads south, Alan, Simon, Lucie and Felix are patiently waiting for the wind to pick up again.
"Since Monday morning, we've been tacking close-hauled, and these are by no means our ideal conditions. We're staying focused on the boat's progress and the atmosphere on board is great. We're sailing seriously, but in a friendly, happy frame of mind. We're enjoying doing what we love, and doing it together.
Team AMAALA should touch more favorable airs as the day progresses, with the first TSSs (traffic separation schemes) soon to be negotiated off the English coast.
